Continuing the history of the German Navy in World War II, the author examines in detail the significant role of the smaller coastal waters warships hitherto undocumented. The book contains the full history of the design, construction and deployment of the minelayers, minesweepers, harbour defence vessels, torpedo and gun boats that performed service throughout World War II. The author argues from his own original research to throw new light on the subject, with full service history and fate of a multitude of these small craft together with original photographs, maps and design plans.
