This Working Party Report reviews the research areas of interest for the public and private sectors. However, it places emphasis on areas of direct concern to government organisations. It identifies gaps in national research capabilities and on this basis procedes to identify corrective measures. The opportunities for regional and inter-regional co-operation in research are also examined. The report concludes with a framework for enhancing developing country research capabilities through cooperation.
