In questo suo secondo libro, dopo "Progettare per Vincere" edito nel 1994, Fabio Buzzi ripercorre gli ultimi 17 anni della sua attività, con un progressivo passaggio dalle affascinanti competizioni offshore ai record su lunga distanza, perfetto banco di prova per tutti gli scafi che attualmente produce per tanti Corpi professionali di tutto il mondo. Fabio Buzzi è imprenditore, pilota, progettista e costruttore di scafi velocissimi. Ma prima di tutto Fabio Buzzi è un ingegnere e nei suoi tanti progetti la logica tipicamente ingegneristica è sempre presente, pur con frequenti concessioni all'estetica, derivate da una lunga tradizione familiare. Nella storia della motonautica mondiale, ormai lunga più di un secolo, nessuno più di lui è riuscito ad accumulare così tanti successi, basti pensare che la sua prima gara fu la Pavia-Venezia del 1960 mentre, 50 anni dopo, nel 2010,si aggiudicava nuovamente, nelle turbolente acque inglesi, l'Harmsworth Trophy, il più antico e famoso trofeo della motonautica mondiale, datato 1903 e vinto dagli scafi FB Design ben 7 volte.
