Fascinating and almost unbelievably in depth review of the life of one of those Victorian pioneers who has gone unrecognised until now. The story of a half-hearted clergyman whose real passion was the development of submarines. The truth bending exercises employed to inspire belief in his dream are sometimes outrageous and the chronicler has done so much research you feel that he almost knew Garrett. Read this if for no other reason than his submarine "Resurgam" must eventually be raised from the seabed of Wales and when it is, you will be an instant expert on the man behind the dream. - A good read.
