This book deals with the most comprehensive effort ever made to scientifically assess and investigate, with a view to remedy, the extent of marine pollution throughout the world today and its effect on sea life. A congress of scientists in the areas concerned with pollution, and of administrators and executives associated with official and civic bodies, was organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization and held in Rome. A report was adopted conveying their views for effective action in remedy. This volume contains edited contributions and summaries of the discussions. Summaries are in French and Spanish.
