Express cruisers first became popular in the 1880s when businessmen like J. P. Morgan began using steam yachts to travel from their country homes to the Wall Street area. The years between the two world wars were the golden days and saw luxury yacht-building at its pinnacle. Altogether, over 300 express cruisers were built by about 70 builders. This volume features details of 50 of the original vessels which have survived, providing information about all aspects of their construction and history.
